The department coordinates and services other departments of the Ministry. Divisions and Units under the department are: These are Administration, Accounts, Store, Transport, Registry, and Internal Audit.
The functions of the department:
Coordination of the activities of other departments thereby, serving as the coordinating unit of the Ministry through the office of the Permanent Secretary
Conducting promotion, appointment and conversion for both senior and junior staff;
Handling discipline and welfare of members of staff
Serves as secretariat to management and other forms of meetings
Preparation and processing fund releases, contract matters and staff, salaries and allowances, settlement of bills and compilation/reconciliation of accounting records
Coordinating Budget preparation and implementation;
General procurement matters;
Management of Ministry’s physical assets such as; motor vehicles, furniture, buildings etc.
Initiating memos and letters to other MDAs and responding to memos/letters/requests from other MDAs
